The YWCA Ulster County is a full member affiliate member of Girls Inc., a national organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through research-based programs and advocacy, and whose purpose is to enable girls to achieve their full potential and assert their rights. The YWCA uses the Girls Inc. curriculum to provide programs for schools, youth/community centers, and other not-for-profit organizations.
Families Now is an intensive family preservation program serving families residing in Ulster County, New York. Families Now is a service offered by the YWCA of Ulster County which strives to provide intensive family preservation services to families through a variety of interventions. Families Now is designed to offer immediate (at the point of crisis), short-term (up to 6 weeks) services to families with a child or children (up to 18 years) at imminent risk of out-of-home placement or to expedite the youth’s early return to his/her family. The program receives prioritized referrals exclusively from the Ulster County Department of Social Services.
A state of the art child care center located at Ulster Family Court staffed by YWCA teachers and advocates who care for children while parents and caregivers attend to court business.
